This fantastically unique approach to a backsplash was designed by J.Peyton of Louisiana.
The copper medallion is an embossment of a City of Alexandria, LA, manhole cover.
It was created with a 24" x 24" 16 mil copper sheet placed over the manhole cover, and a ball-peen hammer was used to make the impression. A tile installer worked with the medallion and carefully fit it perfectly into the backsplash.
