Masks- By J.W. Ford
The 12" X 9" masks are embossed on 36 gauge (5 mil) copper sheet, accented with alcohol ink and acrylic paint. The design is embossed and debossed on alternate sides of the copper sheet, depending on the desired effect. The artist has an extensive collection of beautiful earrings that have been attached to some of the metal masks as embellishment. J.W. Ford describes herself as a visual artist and has worked in charcoal, airbrush with acrylic, watercolor and computer rendering. She is self-taught in the art of metal embossing, having taught herself through DVDs, You Tube demos, and asking questions of the right people. It is her endeavor to create International Metal Mask images that will reflect the beautiful array of different kinds of people who inhabit our remarkable Planet.
