Here is another repousse piece by Frank McDonald. Just like the crab, this is also done using 5 mil (36 gauge) copper foil.
According to McDonald, all of the patinas that have developed on his pieces are from " mother nature " with a little help from him. They are all organic in nature; therefore the patinas are also at the whim of "mother nature" and humidity, time, etc.
The patina pictured here he refers to as the "salt water patina." It is just beautiful!
